Social Venture Network

SVN Europe is a network of socially and environmentally committed entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, business leaders, change agents and NGOs resolved to using their organisations as catalysts for change towards a more just, humane and sustainable world. Our goal is to integrate the values of socially and environmentally sustainable society into everyday practices. To do this, we strive to develop ourselves professionally and personally.

Our members represent a variety of European businesses and not-for-profits. We aim to share our know-how and experience, learn from each others' successes and failures and to be active in the promotion of socially and environmentally sustainable business.

We want to help move the debate about sustainability forward.

SVN Europe has national networks in the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom as well as individual members in many other countries.

There are also SVN networks in USA (www.svn.org) and Asia.

The Social Venture Network symbol is derived from the sign for important discussion within an assembly hall. It is taken from an ancient script called Nsibibi, used by the Ejagham people, who lived in south-eastern Nigeria and western Cameroon. It expresses our deep respect for open dialogue and the traditional wisdom that we seek to integrate within modern society
