Adding value through corporate social responsibility

The need for corporate social responsibility is no longer in question. The question now is how to do it: How to be innovative in business development, in relation to stakeholders, and in integrating ethics and responsibility into corporate culture and leadership.

A socially responsible business is about more than following rules and regulations. It is a creative act. A responsible business is more than rational strategic thinking and risk minimising. It is also an art form that involves instinct, courage, feelings and a willingness to serve civil society and the planet.

For this conference the focus is on how companies can add value by stepping out of the box and exploring creative ways of doing business so value increases for all stakeholders.

Come and meet companies that have already stepped out of the box. Listen to inspiring presenters. Compare experiences with other participants. Choose from over 20 workshops. Expand your network with like-minded entrepreneurs. Enjoy study visits to local companies, as well as Slow Food's influence on the cuccina. Held in the pervading atmosphere of the Renaissance.

The setting for this event is the old walled city of Lucca. The elegant Palazzo Ducale, seat of the Provincial Government, will be our conference venue. Hotels to suit all tastes are close by and the surrounding landscape is stunning. Practise slow travelling while here and don't rush back home - Pisa, Florence and other Tuscan gems are nearby.

Our aim is for participants to leave the conference enthused, inspired and with a greater knowledge bank than they brought with them. This result is not only achieved through excellent presenters but also through the active sharing of experience from each participating organisation.

The tree-crowned Torre Guinigi symbolises how new, vibrant and sustainable forms grow out of old structures.
