Social Responsibility´s Certification: a Starting Point, not a Goal

Trambus spa has more than 8 500 employers and manages a fleet of about 2 500 vehicles. It is a company with deep respect for the environment, its employees and all its stakeholders. SA 8000 Social Responsibility certification is part of the company´s management system. Trambus´ ethical and socially responsible business practice is of importance to both the Comune di Roma, other stakeholders (users, employers, clients, suppliers, authorities) and the social and environmental system in which the company operates. Shared ethical values are also a means for Trambus to enhance social and individual responsibility within the company. Trambus has chosen SA 8000 certification, because it is very close to the company mission: to deliver transport service with an high level of social responsibility and to promote the use of public transport. In his workshop Tullio Tulli will present how the implementation work was carried out, what results have been achieved and what the future challenges are.

Tullio Tulli is Human Resource and Organization Director of Trambus and Head of Social Responsibility Policy. He has worked for several national organizations in transportation and security. Tullio has published books about local public transportation, with a special focus on how to move the organisation over to more Social Responsibility.
